Established in early 2020 by a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, the Somali Women Peace and Security Centre (SWPS Centre) is a multi-sectoral organization dedicated to promoting women's rights, with a articular focus on political participation and involvement in peace and security reforms. Our mission is to partner with government institutions, non profit organizations, and private sector firms to find impactful solutions to the complex social, economic, security, and political challenges facing Somalia. At SWPS Centre, we empower Somali women to realize their potential as leaders in the country. To achieve this, we equip women with the skills and knowledge necessary to boost their confidence and prepare them to be effective advocates for their rights and the rights of others. Our emphasis on participatory community engagement ensures that women's voices are not only heard but also valued in decision-making processes at all levels.
