Maryan Hussein Hassan, a student at the Somali National University, took part in a high-level forum held yesterday by the Somali Women Peace and Security Centre (SWPSC).
During the event, Maryan courageously addressed the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, requesting a private audience to share her views and aspirations. True to his word, the Prime Minister honored his promise and met with Maryan today, listening attentively to her thoughts and vision.
SWPSC extends its sincere gratitude to the Prime Minister for his consistent support, inclusive leadership, and continued engagement with Somali women and youth. His responsiveness to the voices of young women like Maryan reflects a government that values dialogue, participation, and meaningful inclusion.
This meeting is not just a fulfilled promise it is a testament to what happens when leadership listens and young people speak up.
SWPSC remains committed to amplifying women’s voices and creating spaces where every Somali woman and girl can lead, influence, and inspire.
